JD Wetherspoon is an award winning leading pub and hotel chain, with just under 1000 outlets across the UK.
JD Wetherspoon had an existing pub finder app, which was available for iOS only. This was almost 4 years old and required a complete redesign, rebuild and rebrand to coincide with their new website launch. They also wanted to give their customers an engagement point when visiting their outlets with some way of recording what pub or hotel they had visited.

Working closely with the team at their Watford HQ, we set out to create an app that allowed their customers to quickly see what outlets where close by depending on their GPS position. The app then offered a number of pubs or hotels they could access, complete with images, directional information via google or iOS maps. Each outlet also has slight differences in their menu offering, so we also plugged into their CMS (Sitecore) to pull relevant information on food and drinks, complete with nutritional and allergy information to make this the most comprehensive pub finder app to date.
Wetherspoon customers also like to take part in beer trails visiting different outlets, we therefore added the functionality to allow customer to mark pubs as visited, as well as highlight their favourites for easy access to contact information or directional information.
With a total project time of under 8 weeks, the app was launched in 2015 and quickly became the brands most downloaded app.
